COURSE DESCRIPTION

This unit covers the core practices required to work safely in food-handling roles. In this course you will:

  •  Maintain clean, hygienic food-handling areas, identify and report pest risks, and follow procedures for cleanliness and disposal.
  • Handle, store and dispose of food and single-use items according to a food safety program and regulatory requirements.

Target Group

This course is ideal for those working or volunteering in settings where food is prepared, served or handled, particularly:

  • Aged-care, disability and community service environments
